The Australasian Laboratory Managers Association (ALMA) is a division of SIA, Inc. and is the peak industrial body representing the interests of laboratory, technical, scientific and facility managers in Australia and New Zealand.
ALMA seeks to develop and grow the competencies of professional laboratory staff whilst at the same time lobbying governments at all levels for increased recognition and help for the sector.
We aim to achieve this by education, communication, representation and information.
ALMA was formed in 2006 as the peak industrial body for laboratory professionals. We concentrate on those issues and themes that are germane to all laboratories, irrespective of which industry they are operating in.
There are plenty of societies and associations catering to industry specific issues, ALMA cuts across this "silo" approach, addressing as it does the common themes and universal issues.
ALMA has its own website go to www.labmanagers.org.au
